Is tap water ok?
Depending on what your local supplier includes in this. Check their website and see. A lot of them include other chemicals that are not meant for your plants. It probably won’t kill them, but would stunt their growth at the very least.

Well Water
You could have your own well that supplies ground water.
Hydroponics Water
If it works for the hydroponics guys, it will work for the rest of us. This should be constantly adding valuable nutrients into your soil.

Keep Multiple Marked Jugs
You will go through a lot of your favorite water supplies. Each plant has slightly different nutrients that are required. Keep a large jug of each in a central area marked as to what they are.
